PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT
As soon as you book an appointment, you are making the decision to take some time for you and put yourself first. This is an important step towards healing and wellbeing.
We recommend you wear comfortable clothing in which you can feel relaxed and at ease.
It is advisable to eat something light prior to your appointment so that you are not distracted by hunger, but not a heavy meal that is going to require your body working hard to digest – this takes away from your body’s ability to relax and let go.
Please refrain from drinking alcohol or taking recreational drugs. They inhibit your ability to be present with yourself, disconnecting you from your body and can undermine the positive effects of your healing. Take any necessary steps to ensure that you are undisturbed during your time at Sanctuary and prepare to silence or turn off your phone and other devices prior to entering.
We look forward to seeing you!
WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR TIME AT SANCTUARY
On arrival, should you find the door locked, please knock. When in session, a healer might lock the front door so that they can fully focus on their client’s needs without disturbance.
If the door is unlocked, please simply enter. No need to knock.
Inside, you will find a quiet, peace-filled setting, soft lighting, the soothing sounds of a water fountain and perhaps some ocean sounds or soft music.
If your healer is not in the waiting area, please have a seat, she or he will be with you shortly.
We have water, tea and healthy snacks if you are hungry or thirsty.
At the start of your session, you will have a chance to talk with your healer and discuss the reason for your visit. Please give as much information as you can, including health issues whether they be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, any medications you are taking, physical limitations or concerns, allergies or other sensitivities.
The more we get to know you, the more able we are to efficiently assist you in your healing, transition or recovery.
Of course, all information you give your healer is private and confidential. We respect you and appreciate you placing your trust in us to help you.
We recognize the need and desire each of you has to be seen for who you truly are, rather than the images other people believe or want you to be. This is what perhaps sets us apart from other healers – our ability to recognize and “see” your unique nature and essence.
For an Intuitive Touch Healing session, you will lie fully clothed on a massage table. We ask you to remove your shoes and any jewelry or accessories that might be uncomfortable for you. In order to address all of you, body and soul, your healer will ask you to turn over half way through. Blankets and pillows are offered to make you comfortable so that you are able to fully relax.
During an Intuitive Touch Healing session, there is no conversation allowing your healer to fully focus on your needs.
After the session, your healer will discuss with you what they addressed and offer recommendations for further healing whether it be for additional healing sessions, or perhaps referral to another healing modality, counselor or type of training.
For a massage, you will be provided privacy for undressing and getting situated on the table. Removal of clothing is whatever you are comfortable with. A sheet/blanket will cover you to ensure modesty at all times. Your healing practitioner will uncover only the part of your body being massaged. For dressing after the session, you will again be provided with complete privacy.
We recommend that you try to relax as much as possible during your massage, limiting conversation and just being with yourself. This allows for maximum healing potential.
You will be offered water before you leave as it is important to rehydrate the body after any healing session.
We hope you will truly enjoy your time with us at Sanctuary and look forward to welcoming you back any time.
